Shock Blanket (2022)

When creating Shock Blanket, I posed a question to my online community: What stories do we begin telling with, “I wouldn’t call it traumatic but,”. Using abstracted variations of the confessed answers, I machine embroider text on shock blankets traditionally used in emergency settings. After being shown around for multiple exhibitions, the blankets are then offered back to their original confessor.
