The Moon was the Earth’s Debris is an interactive installation that speaks to the unavoidable assimilation of immigrant children in foreign communities. Our parents carry the guilt of their choices and we carry the weight of their expectations. Like the Moon, a child born from the Earth, we have become an entity of our own yet cannot escape the orbit of the ones that gave us these choices in the first place. It is both our responsibility and neither of our faults.

 

As the audience enters the space, they can witness the effect of their presence on the moon, and the immigrant children who must adapt in order to survive.
